5K for Adolfo & Farmer’s Market Finds
This morning has been quite productive and I feel very energized. I woke up early to go to our local farmer’s market. There was so much more there than the last time I went.
I came home with:
- carrots
- beets
- red onions
- cucumbers
- broccoli
- ground beef
- eggs
- 2 types of squash
- zucchini
- homemade whole wheat bread w/flax seed
I spent a total of $38. I can’t remember the last time I went to the grocery store and only spent $38 and got this much food! I’m looking forward to making cucumber onion salad, sauteed squash & zucchini, roasted beets and who knows what else. I’ve already washed everything and put them in green bags (best invention ever!).
After the farmer’s market I walked another SPCA dog. Today’s dog was Adolfo. He was a pretty big dog and I don’t know if I walked him or if he walked me. He has been hit by a car and his back leg is being rehabilitated so he would pick it up often like my pug Edna does. I ran a bit this time to keep up with this dog. I ended the 5K feeling energized and nothing hurt – not even my back! It’s nice to not only exercise but have a good reason to do so.
I feel like calling it a day, but it’s only 11am!!! I forsee a lot of Dr. Mario in my future today.
